Service and Focus Areas InCAD
The Institute for Capacity Development for over fourteen years has been able to provide clients with the necessary training for different courses. As an institution, we have interacted with over five hundred thousand participants in more than a hundred companies as well as international courses in twenty-five countries.
We are duly registered with the National Industrial Training Authority to offer each of the programs after duly satisfying all NITA conditions including presenting certified profiles and certificates of the trainers. Our NITA Reference number is NITA/TRN/887.
Institute for Capacity Development specializes in providing a range of customized corporate trainings, inhouse business seminars, employee development workshops with the aim of performance and knowledge improvement. We provide training for education administrators, and entrepreneurship development courses targeting small and micro enterprises. Our programs are designed for the different levels of employees in the organization to meet their specific training needs

Drug And Mental Health Awareness
This is our key focus! Drug and substance abuse not only impact organizations negatively but also on families, causing health, family, legal and financial problems.
Drug abuse among university students in Kenya is a significant public health concern, with recent studies highlighting alarming trends and associated consequences. Every individual should ensure their families are protected from drug abuse. Therefore, we offer sustainable ways of its prevention, management and treatment. Mental health among university students in Kenya is a critical concern, with studies indicating high prevalence rates of stress, depression, and anxiety within this population. Contributing factors include stress, depression, substance and financial strain.
Consultancy Services Experience
The Institute has provided consultancy services to various organizations across different sectors. They include:
- Safaricom SACCO Ltd – Conducted job evaluation and a remuneration survey.
- Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) – Carried out an enterprise risk assessment in 2018, covering ten stations.
- Kenya Power – Conducted research on ethics risks in collaboration with the Ethics Institute of South Africa in 2012
- Various SMEs – Provided consultancy in recruitment, developing communication policies, organizational review, proposal writing, records management, and conflict resolution
- Kenya Industrial Property Institute (KIPI) – Conducted gender and disability
- Tourism Fund – Conducted OSH, gender baseline survey, disability and gender mainstreaming, and records management.
- Ministry of Livestock Development – Provided consultancy on disability mainstreaming.
HIV/AIDS
It was declared a national disaster in Kenya in 1999 by the government which established the National Aids Control Council. It is intended to build organizational commitment to reduce the spread of AIDS and its effects as well as stigmatization.
Disability Mainstreaming
The Performance Contract guidelines requires that all public institutions implement the Government Policy on affirmative action for people with disabilities.
The training targets the disability committee members and will help in creating awareness in the organization and implement the disability policy and make necessary reports to the organization and to the National Council for People with Disabilities ion Kenya.
Occupational Health And Safety
This course provides understanding of health and safety legislation and help build confidence to actively improve workplace health and safety.
Stress and Lifestyle Management
Stress has been identified as the major cause of poor health and death therefore it needs to be carefully managed to maximize productivity of employees thereby increasing the company’s productivity.
Conflict Prevention, Management And Resolution
Conflicts have a negative effect on work trust and overall performance. This course is offered to human resource managers, team leaders and project leaders who are involved in managing conflict situations at work. They need to be able to identify potential conflict situations, mediate and address them in a positive manner before thy turn into crisis.
Attitudinal Change And Ethical Conflict In Organizations
Employees productivity is a function of their knowledge, attitude and motivation. With the right attitude, an employee is willing to learn, show commitment to work and relate well with their peers, supervisors and juniors
