The Premier Administrative Officers Conference, held at the Morendat Training and Conference Centre in Naivasha, brought together officers from across the public sector from The Office of The Director of Public Prosecution for a dynamic training aimed at enhancing their leadership capacity and operational effectiveness. Throughout the program, officers were equipped with essential competencies to boost their impact in public service.
Key sessions focused on defining and understanding the evolving role of administration officers within the public sector, the importance of automation and digitalization in streamlining processes and strengthening accountability through effective administrative management. Officers also explored legal and regulatory frameworks related to government, fleet management and leasing processes—critical areas for ensuring transparent resource use.
A highlight of the program was a field visit to Plantech Kenya Ltd in Naivasha, a leading plant propagation company. This visit exposed officers to innovative agricultural practices and underscored the significance of public-private collaborations in supporting community productivity and sustainability.
Another key segment covered was on Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) regulations. Trainees learned about workplace safety standards, strategies for hazard prevention and the value of a proactive safety culture. The sessions emphasized the need for regular risk assessments, enforcement of safety protocols and integration of mental health and well-being into workplace structures—affirming that a safe, healthy worker is a productive one.
