The corruption risk assessment gave us a language for problems we'd only ever discussed informally — and a plan we could actually act on.

HomeAbout Us
Who we are, what we believe, how we got here, and how we hold ourselves to the same standard we teach.
Ethics is the central creed of our life and the very determinant of our success and business sustainability.
About EII
The Ethics and Integrity Institute (EII) is a non-profit organisation that promotes ethical culture and an environment of responsible corporate citizens, who subscribe to and practice good governance. We work across public, private and civil-society organisations — from state agencies and county governments to banks, saccos, universities and NGOs — building the structures, skills and habits that let ethics survive contact with the real world.
Our main objective is to emphasise the importance of ethics, and to impart the knowledge and skills institutions need to manage behaviour responsibly. That means going beyond a single workshop: understanding how ethics is governed, how it's written into policy, and how it's reinforced day to day by the people who lead.
To inculcate morally responsible conduct.
To transform the moral character of our society through collaboration with like-minded individuals and organisations to deliver demand-driven programs.
Our Core Values
Answering for the obligations of our mandate to stakeholders and following through on commitments.
Sharing information, cooperating with one another and communicating with respect.
Seeking solutions based on needs and abilities, and finding new ways to improve service delivery.
Motivating others to perform to their maximum potential, with the right skills for the right roles.
Our History
EII's work is best told through the institutions it has walked alongside — from a first wave of corporate ethics-awareness sessions to a nationwide footprint across county government.
From 2012
Our earliest documented training work runs from March 2012 — ethics-awareness and "Ethics at the Work Place" sessions with organisations including Kenya Commercial Bank, Numerical Machining Complex, Sony & Nzoia Sugar Companies, and a run of county councils, laying the groundwork for what would become a national practice.
2013 – 2018
The Certified Ethics & Integrity Officers Program launches and runs through multiple intakes, alongside corruption risk assessments, integrity testing and code-of-conduct development for clients such as KeNHA, KEMSA, LAPFUND and the Capital Markets Authority.
2014 – 2019
Delegations travel with partners including IPAC, the Caux Round Table and the Australian Institute of Management to Canada, Germany, Japan, Australia, South Africa, Rwanda and the USA — exchanging practice with peer institutions abroad and bringing lessons home.
2019 – 2022
EII's study missions and empowerment programs turn toward supporting Kenya's Big Four Agenda — Affordable Health Care, Food Security, Affordable Housing and Manufacturing — through targeted work with legislators and senior executives.
Today
More than 5,000 delegates trained across 35 countries, 20-plus courses on offer, and an active footprint across national agencies, county public service boards and the private sector.
Why EII
For more than a decade, state agencies, county governments, banks, saccos and universities have turned to EII to help their people make better ethical decisions — not as a one-off seminar, but as a lasting change in culture.
EII's engagement helped our board see ethics not as a compliance checkbox, but as the operating standard our staff hold each other to, every day.

Our HR team still uses the ethics-reporting framework EII helped us build. It outlasted the workshop by years.

Team & Staff
EII's programs are shaped by a small team of facilitators, researchers and advisors working across ethics, governance and organisational development.
Design and delivery of open and in-house courses, from single-day sensitisation to multi-week certification.
Corruption perception surveys, ethics risk assessments and policy development for corporate and public clients.
Project management for tours, forums, award ceremonies and cross-border study missions.
Governance
EII operates on the same principles of accountability and transparency it asks of its clients — sharing information openly, following through on commitments, and delivering programs that are demand-driven rather than one-size-fits-all. In practice, that governance shows up across seven areas of work.
